Like many areas in south and south east England, Buckinghamshire has been changed by the steady encroachment of London’s suburbs. However, still sometimes referred to as Leafy Bucks, the county has retained a lot of its former rural aspect, particularly around Buckingham, Stowe, and the nearby Chilterns.
