Commentary
Worthing Motors was established in 1923 by John Poxon, the great grandfather of the present director, after travelling to Paris, where he met Andre Citroën, and acquired the distribution rights for Citroën cars in Sussex.

In a brochure marking the company's 90th anniversary, it explains that customers included Sir Rowland Smith, past chairman of Ford UK, who on his retirement asked to be given the Citroën DS that Ford had acquired for their research department.  Apparently Sir Rowland went on to buy at least ten more Citroëns until giving up driving in his late 80s.
