Staines

On the Roman road from London to the West Country, Staines once marked the outer limit of the city of London.

A medieval market town, and a centre of local industry, it is today a relatively affluent residential area, located on either side of the River Thames.

Historically part of Middlesex, the town was transferred to Surrey in 1965.

The home of the founder, and site of the company’s first factory.
