Britain By Car - A Motoring History

Linwood

Situated on the outskirts of Paisley, Linwood was for many years a small village with several mines and a cotton mill nearby.  By the 1930s, the area had fallen into economic decline, but was rejuvenated with the arrival of Pressed Steel and, later, the Rootes car plant.

Pressed Steel

One of the four factories once operated by the British car body manufacturer, the Pressed Steel Company Ltd.
