Grimsby

A settlement of Danish origin, Grimsby’s growth really began in the 19th century with the construction of new docks and later the railway.  By the mid-20th century it was the largest fishing port in the world. Today the docks are home to just a fraction of the vessels, with food processing now being one of the major industries.
