Grantham

A market town in south Lincolnshire, probably best known today as the birthplace of the former British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher.  It was in Grantham that world’s first compression ignition engine was produced; manufactured by Richard Hornsby and Sons, to a design developed by Herbert Ackroyd-Stuart.

Kendall

Hailed as Britain’s first post-War “people’s car”, the Kendall was the brainchild of Grantham’s local Member of Parliament, Denis Kendall.
