A quiet resort on the Firth of Forth, about 17 miles east of Edinburgh. 

Aberlady Bay was Britain’s first local nature reserve, established in 1952.  The Bay also contains the remains of two midget submarines, just visible at low tide, and once used as target practice for the RAF.
